You can change the Gaussian curvature of a surface if you stretch it, but wrapping paper is not very stretchy. Wrapping your gift in latex is an option, though … We’ll leave you to decide whether to follow up on that.

You can’t wrap a horse’s saddle either, though for a slightly different reason. Because a saddle curves upwards in one direction (along the horse) and down in the other (around the horse), its Gaussian curvature is calculated by multiplying a positive curvature by a negative curvature, giving a negative result. Again, there is no way to reproduce this negative Gaussian curvature with a flat piece of wrapping paper. Looks like Blossom will have to make do with an unwrapped gift this year, eh?
